Your Right to Privacy at Coastlink
There are 3 Acts relating to Privacy and all three bind Coastlink: these are the Federal Privacy Act 1988; Privacy & Personal Information Protection Act 1999 and the Health Records & Information Privacy Act 2004. These Acts are in place to ensure that any personal information Coastlink collects from you must be kept strictly private and confidential.

Why is Coastlink collecting personal information from me, my carer or my family?
All of the personal information Coastlink collects from clients, carers and families is necessary to properly care for you or the person you care for with a disability.
Will Coastlink give my personal information to any other individual or agency?
Coastlink will not give the information to any other agency or individual without your permission.
Can I access the personal information Coastlink holds about me?
You have the right to access the personal information Coastlink holds about you at any time convenient to you and to Coastlink. You also have the right to correct any information if it is incorrect or out of date.
How can I be sure that my personal information kept by Coastlink is kept secure?
Coastlink stores personal information in secure, locked files and password protected databases which are secure from unauthorised use and misuse at all times.
What can I do if I believe Coastlink has infringed my privacy?
You have the right to make a complaint to the Coastlink Manager on 43 211 022. Your complaint will be taken seriously and will be investigated thoroughly. The Manager will ensure that the Board of Directors is informed of your complaint and any investigations flowing from your complaint.
