Coastlink is celebrating the launch of its latest ‘Holiday Options Program’, with trips to the Australian Museum and SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, farm visits and orange picking all on offer during the upcoming school holidays.
Affectionally known as the ‘HOP’, this unique Program gives young people who are living with disability the opportunity to experience a variety of fun, social outings in a supportive and caring environment.
Coastlink’s Chief Executive Officer, John Davis, said the Holiday Options Program is an essential part of the yearly calendar for many working parents and carers, who would otherwise be left without care for the young people in their lives during the school holidays.
“Along with our Community Access Program and Day Program, we know that the ‘HOP’ is an absolute lifeline for many parents and carers.
“Coastlink is proud to have been the Central Coast’s number one disability and aged care provider for more than 35 years, and the provision of this program is another way we’re committed to supporting local young people who are living with disability.
“Each and every one of these individuals has big dreams, big ideas and big potential, and through the Holiday Options Program, we’re helping young people to gain independence, strengthen their life skills, and most importantly, have fun during the school holidays!”
Set to run from Monday 26 September to Friday 7 October 2022, the Holiday Options Program includes a range of exciting activities to suit a broad range of interests, including:
- A visit to Revolution Sports Park for trampoline and inflatable fun;
- Underwater explorations at both the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and the Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre;
- Slot-car racing fun at SLOTIES in Charmhaven;
- A visit to the dinosaur exhibition at the Australian Museum;
- Orange picking at Cedar Farm in Dooralong; and
- A fun ferry ride from Ettalong to Palm Beach.
